Tennyson Surveying is an independent surveying company providing Home Condition Surveys as well as Damp and Timber Surveys with an aim at demystifying the purchase process.
Based in the Isle of Wight but also covering Hampshire, Dorset, Wiltshire and beyond.
I am a fully qualified surveyor with fourteen years experience in all aspects of building defects, I'm accredited by the Residential Property Surveyors Association, which is a representative body for independent specialist residential surveyors, who are the industry's leading specialists in reporting on the condition of residential properties on behalf of home buyers.
I have also been assessed by the Property Care Association, which is the trade body that represents the damp and timber industry, and my Certification is the required level of expertise stipulated by mortgage lenders in the UK. This means I am able to offer expert opinion on all matters relating to damp or timber issues.
When buying a property your first port of call will usually be a Valuation survey. This may or may not include a visit to the property, but is not a condition survey. Many purchasers are not aware that the valuation survey is to ensure the mortgage lender is not at risk of loosing money should there be a problem with the property at a later date, and does not consititute a thorough inspection of the property.
This is where we come in! Recommended by the Government in this recent How to Buy Guide published by the Ministry of Housing, Communities & Local Government in May 2019. Members of the RPSA are able to offer various surveys as part of the purchase process. (See page 11)
